Sports Therapy & Injury Management

Sports Therapy is an aspect of healthcare that is specifically concerned with the prevention of injury and the rehabilitation of the patient back to optimum levels of functional, occupational and sports specific fitness, regardless of age and ability. It utilises the principles of sport and exercise sciences incorporating physiological and pathological processes to prepare the participant for training, competition and where applicable, work. At Max Sports Therapy we use a combination of hands on, manual therapy techniques in conjunction with progressive exercise rehabilitation. We carry out thoroughly detailed examinations and diagnosis of your injury, this allows us to formulate an effective treatment and rehabilitation plan which will help you to become pain free and back to your day-to-day life as quickly as possible.

On your initial visit to Max Sports Therapy you will be required to attend a consultation which will last up to 60 minutes.

The consultation will include a detailed discussion about your symptoms, lifestyle, background, and personal goals followed by a thorough physical examination. The physical examination will include an assessment of your; range of movement, muscle length and strength, posture, and specific tests depending on your symptoms.

On completion of the physical examination, you will receive treatment followed by a discussion with your Sports Therapist which will include, a clear diagnosis and a tailored treatment plan focussing on the rehabilitation of, and prevention of injury so that you are able to return to full fitness and every day life as quickly as possible.
